The MOU Museum Oudenaarde invites visitors to experience its iconic tapestries like never before. In collaboration with CREATE, the museum has been transformed into an immersive, interactive space where the stories, craftsmanship, and history of Oudenaarde tapestries truly come to life.

CREATE’s work for MOU spans creative concept design, production, and installation, combining heritage with cutting-edge creative technology to offer a multi-sensory visitor journey.

Key elements of the project include:

• Immersive storytelling: CREATE designed, produced, and installed an immersive film exploring the history of tapestry, showcasing late-medieval Oudenaarde as a vibrant hub of textile production. Visitors step back in time to see the workshops, the weaving process, and the cultural significance of these masterpieces.
• Interactive displays & touch screens: Visitors can explore the museum’s collection through interactive displays and a touch-screen catalogue, gaining in-depth insights into the tapestries’ stories, techniques, and historical context.
• VR experiences: Using VR goggles, visitors can step back in time to see how tapestries were originally displayed and used, adding a new layer of historical understanding to the visit.
• Interactive tapestry game: CREATE designed a playful, engaging activity where visitors design their own tapestry, selecting borders, images, backgrounds, and decorative elements of their choice. The creation is then projected in real life on the wall, turning imagination into tangible experience.
